Mindfulness can be much more than meditating. If you aren’t a fan of meditating don’t count out the ability to be mindful, and the importance of it. Today I’m sharing some more hands-on, activities that can help promote mindfulness which I’ll be introducing to Zen’s workshops in September. These are great ways to overcome creative blocks and become more present and aware of your surroundings. During the second lockdown I signed up to a mindful photography course which was offered to me as part of my voluntary work at Cheltenham Oncology. I found it really inspiring and it helped bring my attention to the present moment, we also put together an exhibition at Gloucester Cathedral, which is on until 31st August 2021 so please take a look if you’re nearby.

Mindfulness in Beauty and Massage
I use mindfulness in my beauty routines, so the guest is feeling calm on the inside and radiant on the outside. Being mindful also means being respectful to our natural environment and its resources and as a business we look carefully at every step we take. I run several online Health and Wellness Courses where I use organic products which reflect in line with Zen Pamper Company’s ethos, and I love to cover Self Care and Mindfulness as a beauty therapist in my workshops. I am always recommending treatments to my clients as a way of introducing the variety we have on offer. Mindful beauty involves mindful rituals which combine breathing techniques and time to completely relax. Look out for my next online Feel-Good Body Glow Experience which is on the 1st of October, using Neals Yard Organic Products.

Mindfulness In Art
I am also introducing Creative Mindful Art Workshops which all centre around art, but don’t worry if you aren’t an artist. The point of each exercise isn’t perfection, it’s mindfulness. Prior to working in beauty, I studied Art and Theatre Design and worked as a photographer on cruise ships, this is still an area I am very passionate about. Before we get to the list of workshops lets discuss more about what mindfulness is. We are constantly surrounded by the busyness of life. So much so that when we aren’t busy our mind tries to figure out what we can do to be busy. Thoughts of what you should be doing right now or even running lists of what the next day holds can take over your relaxation time. Therefore, mindfulness is important. It takes us away from the thoughts that fill our mind and brings us to the present moment. The concept of mindfulness can be hard to take in at first, but you’ll eventually find it easier to do as you try these mindful online workshops which are starting next month at Zen Pamper Company.

Mindfulness is important as it’s a technique you can learn which involves making a special effort to notice what’s happening in the present moment (in your mind, body, and surroundings) – without judging anything. Mindfulness can also help us enjoy life more and understand ourselves better. It’s a basic skill to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Mindfulness is a quality that we already possess, we just have to learn how to access it.

Mindfulness in Zen Art Paint Party’s
As part of the pamper sector I will also be running Art Paint Workshops which are a great way to get together with friends and enjoy a cheeky tipple of whatever takes your fancy. No surprise that many art groups get together more for relaxing in a social situation than for making precise art works. I encourage people to join from all levels, the novice to the expert, you’ll be amazed how creative you can be. Another moment of mindful art could be with your children or grandchildren. This non superficial environment often makes mindfulness. Painting has the power to bring you into a present moment, for many, this is one of the easiest ways to meditate, because you are allowing the ‘doing’ of painting to guide you into the meditative state, rather than sitting still and trying to stop the mind. When was the last time that you took a break in your day to just be? We need to be careful not to get too caught up in being to busy. Making time for ourselves is important. These are an ideal way to relax with family and friends and enjoy some downtime, you’ll even have a piece of artwork to keep and hang on your wall. Mindfulness Art Workshops
I’ve listed below the Mindful Art Workshops which are coming to Zen Pamper Company starting this September. They are a great way to slow down and remember that the focus shouldn’t be on how creative you can be, it’s about slowing down and tuning into your mind. This does wonders for our mental health! In this empowering 4-month course you will be guided into a new kind of meditation practice that will activate your inner creativity starting with Creative Flower Art. The course is designed for all professionals and beginners who want to learn, it will teach you how to process emotions and can also help to reduce stress and stay mentally well. It will keep you engaged over the next few months and interacting with others online. Each session is an hour and a half activity-based Zoom call where you’ll be learning new and creative fun exercises to do all from the comfort of your own home. All you need is paints, paper, and an open mind! The skills learnt will also be of benefit to you well into the future.

There are four Mindful Art workshops in this series. You can either enjoy these as individual sessions or sign up to all four online classes. Receive a 10% discount off the full course fee if you sign up by 3rd September 2021.

“All things are possible”

“Remember you are the artist of your own life. Do not hand the paintbrush to anyone else. You must trust the timings of your life and do your best when you feel your best. Trust the process and keep a positive mindset. Anything is possible if you believe.”
