How To Achieve Naturally Glowing Skin.

We all want to show our natural beauty and to make our skin glow which is an indicator of healthy skin. You can never replace the goodness of natural ingredients whether it’s on your skin, hair, or something you take internally. Natural skincare is effective and easy, just see how your skin comes back to life and becomes nourished and soft. Factors like stressful lifestyles, not enough sleep, lack of a nutritional diet, harmful sun rays all add to making our skin dull and lifeless. All of these are part of life and sadly we can’t hold onto our age, however we can slow down the aging process from our skin by following a few of these natural tips below which will help keep your skin happy and glowing. Read on to find a few beauty hints that are easy to do and can be part of your skincare routine…

Water On a recent course I did we were all asked the question what water meant to us and everyone commented life. Our bodies can survive without food for several days, but we can’t survive without water. We need water to keep hydrated plus it’s free. Try to use a water filter jug to get rid of any chemicals. To get a healthier youthful look drink plenty of water, our skin needs to receive enough water to be hydrated, soft and supple. Without enough it becomes dull and dry. It’s especially important to drink water as it helps flush toxins out your system. Drink 2 cups of water first thing in the morning to energise muscles, boost kidneys and brain power and preferably choose cold water which will help kick start your metabolism as the body burns extra calories working to warm it. Also, you can have a cold shower, research suggests that a 30 second blast can boost mood & immunity. Cold water activates temperature receptors under your skin, which in turn leads to the release of feel-good hormones that can help reduce chronic pain & also ease symptoms of depression & anxiety. Start with 10 seconds at the end of a warm shower!!

Green Tea Green tea is the perfect body soother. Whether you choose to drink it or apply to the body, it can relieve body aches especially painful muscles. Green tea is well known for its antioxidant properties and it’s a great fat burning friend. The equivalent of drinking 3 cups a day helps to boost your metabolism plus its heart healthy. Vitamin B contained in tea will soften the skin and helps with relaxation and detoxification. Tea baths also heal skin conditions and relax the muscles. Green tea can also help reduce inflammation and prevent premature aging of skin. Try adding a few tea bags to your bath water, relax and enjoy the benefits 😊

Sea Kelp I absolutely love sushi rolls made with nori. There are an abundance of vitamins and minerals in seaweed, and this has so many benefits using it in your skincare. Seaweed comes in many variations and the benefits of each type are unique in their own way. There are three main categories of seaweed, green, brown and red. Indulge in a seaweed mask which will cleanse and prevent toxins whilst decreasing excess oil production. Seaweed cleanses and has a detoxifying effect on your skin. It also will help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and are a rich source of amino acids. You can take it as a supplement, eat it or use it as a nourishing face mask.

Virgin Coconut Oil Choose Virgin Coconut oil as it helps lock in moisture and nourishes the skin which will make your skin glow. You can warm the oil and apply to your face and neck. Massage for a few minutes in circular motion and leave oil on overnight. Use coconut oil every night before you go to bed. You can also use it as a hair mask, by applying it to the scalp and massaging into the hair which results in super soft hair. Who does not want hydrated and soft shiny hair? Melt the coconut oil, massage, and leave for few hours or overnight in a towel. Wash thoroughly as oil can cause greasy hair which no one wants to end up with.

Skin Detox Juice A good recipe for glowing skin is to drink a green juice in the morning. Green juice contains essential vitamins and minerals that will maintain the health of your skin from the inside and make it soft and glowing. The benefits of it are that it helps rid your body of harmful toxins which can make you feel more tired and eventually will help clear your skin. Use dark green leafy vegetables which contain plenty of phytonutrients and add a lemon, green apple, and a few berries. These are inexpensive remedies which can work wonders. Juice and enjoy a healthy glowing complexion.

Citrus Salt scrub Use a salt scrub to help get rid of cellulite, this will also make skin smoother and firmer. A favourite salt scrub of mine to make is Coconut and Citrus Essential Oils. Salt scrubs are more abrasive on the skin so only use on the body and really benefit from the detoxifying, therapeutic minerals, and citrus oils. If you have sensitive skin, you can use coffee or sugar instead. Start with body brushing on dry skin to remove dead skin cells, follow with a detoxifying body scrub, I find the salt scrub is nice warmed first before using, shower off & finish applying a body butter to lock in moisture. Although there are no permanent ways to remove cellulite, by maintaining a healthy diet, plenty of water and regular exercise will help fight against cellulite.

Mud Face & Body Pack One of my best spa experiences is the Serail mud chamber, a deep detoxifying treatment which softens the skin. Nourishing natural muds are filled with beneficial minerals for the skin, including calcium and magnesium. Cleansing mud masks, especially ones with charcoal or clay can pull impurities from the skin and tighten the pores. Mud has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging effects and it’s also useful in conditions such as arthritis and recovery from sports injuries. Mud packs help improve skin complexion and as the mud dries on your skin it tightens your skin as it removes the unnecessary oils and impurities. When followed with a toner and moisturiser it can keep your skin looking tighter in a nice, toned way. Who doesn’t want their skin looking youthful? Fuller’s earth can be used as a skin firming anti-aging face pack, it cleanses the pores, tones skin, and reduces blemishes. Mix to a paste consistency, apply over face and neck keep on for 20minutes, and rinse with cool water. Do once a week for healthy glowing skin.

Massage Massage regularly – not only is this a relaxing treatment, regular massage will also ensure healthy and glowing skin in the long run. By massaging the skin using oils or creams this helps stimulate the blood flow to the surface which helps in replenishing skin cells. The essential nutrients required by the skin are supplied to it by the blood. You can choose to have an aromatherapy massage tailored to suit your mood and enjoy all the therapeutic benefits of the natural oils. Detox With The Seasons It’s a good idea to modify your skincare routines with the change in seasons, especially during Spring and Summer. For Spring opt for antibacterial and deep cleansers and in the summer months use oil control face packs, cleansers, and light toners. In late Autumn through to Winter hydrating moisturising skin products are beneficial for both the body and feet. Use deep nourishing toners to help keep skin smooth and keep your lips moisturised using lip balms to avoid dry lips.
